Discover the Healing Power of Your Voice

This past week, we hosted a workshop here in Rhode Island with Girish, a professional musician and master of mantra, who emphasized singing as a "health and wellness practice." This resonated deeply with me. Even with years of dedication to eating well and exercising, I've struggled to feel healthy on the inside. I have been exploring all aspects of well-being to truly feel calm, peaceful, and energized and music is part of my daily health routine.

For decades, I trained every muscle in my body but overlooked one of the most powerful aspects of my being: my voice. On Wednesday, I had my first voice lesson, something I never imagined I would do! I remember playing guitar in high school and people saying, “Aw, that sounds so beautiful, too bad you can't sing.” Over the years, I've learned to let go of perfection and limitations, finding deep joy and emotional fulfillment through my voice.

Girish shared a powerful message: "I love my voice just as it is." As we navigate our individual paths to wellness, I encourage you to explore the healing potential of your own voice. Whether through singing, chanting, or speaking with intention, our voices can bring healing, inner peace, and connection. How might embracing this perspective help you let go of judgment and connect more deeply with yourself?
