From Stuck to Free: How to Break the Cycle of Negative Thought Loops

Ever find yourself stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts? A friend and I recently coined the term “lower looping" to describe the times when we get swept up in familiar feelings of powerlessness, self-doubt, or overwhelm, making us feel stuck. But these loops don't have to control us.

In my experience, the way to break free is to recognize when we're caught in lower looping and take small, intentional actions to disrupt the cycle. Whether it's a short walk in nature, a workout, playing your favorite song, doing the dishes, or reaching out to a friend, don't underestimate the impact these simple steps can have in shifting the momentum in our lives.

I want to be clear: we aren't avoiding or pushing away negative thoughts. Instead, once we acknowledge them, we can train ourselves to respond in a new way. By embracing small actions we can intentionally disrupt our habit energy and create space for growth and healing.

So, the next time you find yourself in a negative loop of habit energy, remember that you have the power to shift your perspective. If you found this helpful, please share this message with someone who may benefit from this approach.
