Today marks one year of writing these Friday emails, something I had put off for years. Doubts filled my mind: Will everyone unsubscribe? Who will read it? What will I write about next week and the week after?

 

There have been Friday mornings when the words struggled to flow (grateful for those who have been a sounding board!). Today was one of those Fridays, but similarly to stepping onto the yoga mat, walking into the gym or sitting down to meditate when we feel like today just isn’t my day, the discipline of showing up has lead to a rewarding experience. If I had to pick a favorite email, it would be this one

 

Today, it feels important to honor the one-year mark because part of what I emphasize to my clients is the importance of trying new things and celebrating when we have been consistent.

 

The hesitation to start something new is a common human tendency. We fear failure, crave perfection, procrastinate and hold ourselves back. Is there something in your life you have been waiting for the perfect time to start?
