The Things Money Can't Buy

"Could you text me later to make sure I’m not shopping to fill a God-sized hole?” my friend asked me as the Black Friday sales frenzy began.

In her simple request lies a truth. It brings up the concept of buying a better life through consumerism. While the excitement of holiday sales is understandable, and everyone loves a good deal, it invites us to recognize the deeper longing within us all—a universal quest for contentment.

In my experience, contentment, fulfillment, and vibrant health aren't found on a store shelf or inside an online cart.  Instead, the thrill of exploring, the comfort of genuine connections, the joy of getting lost in our passions—these are the treasures money can't buy.

What if we were to shift our focus from acquiring to experiencing, from possession to connection, and from external validation to internal fulfillment? In making this shift, we discover that the things money can't buy—love, joy, contentment, and health—are within our grasp.

What simple pleasures can you delight in today?
