Mindful Living in 2024

As we begin the new year, I've been contemplating the concept of “value”—particularly as we collectively contemplate intentions for the months ahead. I’ve come to understand that value involves recognizing the sacred and inherent worth in every moment, interaction and aspect of life.

Amidst the distractions of our modern world, I often feel the ache of not giving myself and everything in my life the attention it truly deserves. Perhaps you've felt this way too. This prompted a personal audit of how I value various aspects of my life:

How am I valuing my time?

How am I valuing my body?

How am I valuing my brain?

How am I valuing my divine inspirations?

How am I valuing my living space?

How am I valuing the people in my life?

How am I valuing the world around me?

We can demonstrate value by approaching each moment with presence, intention, a heart full of love, and an openness to play and wonder. As we cultivate these qualities, we can explore which part of ourselves shows up in each activity and be mindful of the environment we create for ourselves and others. Treating ourselves and everything in our experience as truly valuable sets the groundwork for a purposeful life and a deeper connection with the world around us.
